Palm Garden Resort Hoi An

I spent two nights at the 5 Stars Palm Garden Resort Hoi An and loved every moment there. Since my last visit to Hoi An has been over a year ago, I was looking forward to our three days stay. We booked a Superior Garden View Room but the resort manager upgraded us to a  51m2 Deluxe Sea View Room, which was literally a  2 minutes walk from the beach. The Resort is large, 214 nicely decorated rooms divided into 4 categories: Superior (Garden view, Sea View), Deluxe (Garden View, Sea View), Bungalow (Pool & Sea View) and Suite Room.

Superior and Deluxe have the same interior but distinguish in size and location. Superior has 40m2 while deluxe features 48 to 51 m2.  The style is quite simple for a 5 Star Resort, dark wood and tiles, but I like the simpleness. You shouldn’t expect the luxury and modern style from Thailand here but enjoy the quietness and natural surrounding.

Facilities: one restaurants, two bars, a spa, gym, tennis court, kids area and a large pool

Beach: Cua Dai Beach, white, endless. Sea isnt as clear as Chaweng Beach but still good. Lots of loungers and sun umbrellas. Towels provided. Shuttle Bus to Hoi An at 10am, 1 pm, 4 pm and 8pm Shuttle Bus to Palm Garden the latest at 8.30pm Taxi fares about 100.000 VND ($ 5)

What I like:

The breakfast is awesome, serving International and Local Dishes. One morning I had Pho Soup while the next day “Banh Cuon” (Pancakes) was served. A really nice way to introduce tourists to the Vietnamese Cuisine. I also like the adjusting balcony/terrace with two chairs and sea view. It was nice waking up with a view like this. A nice Pina Colada at the terrace while the sun sets. Life is beautiful.

What I did not like:

The schedule of the hotel shuttle bus. There are only 4 shuttles per day and between 4 and 8 are no buses. So if you plan to head to the city for shopping and dinner leave at 4 and come back at 8.30. 8 pm is quite late for shopping since some shops are already closed. Taking a cab does not cost much. We paid about 80.000 to 100.000 VND, depending from which part you depart.
